There’s a lot in store for guests vacationing at Walt Disney World in 2021-2022. The Magic Kingdom just turned 50, and to celebrate, Disney will be debuting new rides throughout the next year!

This means that even if you visit frequently you may see fresh additions to the parks every time you visit. If you haven’t been to the parks in years, or this is your very first visit, you’ll be surprised by all that Disney has to offer in the upcoming months.

With so many additions on the horizon, it’s helpful to know attraction opening dates so you can plan your visit accordingly.

Check out all the new attractions you can expect to open at Walt Disney World by 2023 in the article below!

REMY’S RATATOUILLE ADVENTURE AT EPCOT

The newest addition to Epcot’s World Showcase opened on October 1st in honor of Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration!

This trackless 3D dark ride can be found inside the new France Pavilion expansion. Remy is the perfect ride for families, as it offers a much-needed option for younger children visiting Epcot.

SPACE 220 AT EPCOT

This is technically a restaurant, but the experience makes it an attraction in itself. Now open in Epcot, hop aboard an elevator, and be transported 220 miles above Earth to dine on the Centauri Space Station!

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY: COSMIC REWIND AT EPCOT

This project was originally scheduled to be open in time for the 50th celebration, but has since been delayed.

The first-of-its-kind hybrid rollercoaster will open its doors in 2022! While a specific date has yet to be announced, we expect to get more details at the D23 conference in November.

PLAY PAVILION AND MOANA’S JOURNEY OF WATER

Both of these new additions to Epcot are under construction and could very likely open in 2022. However, Disney has not yet provided an official opening date.

The Play Pavilion will be filled with games, hands-on activities, and meet and greets. Moana’s Journey of Water will allow guests to explore a lush maze and interact with water.

JUNGLE CRUISE AT MAGIC KINGDOM

The classic Jungle Cruise at Magic Kingdom has recently been revamped! The updates include new scenes and character additions to the beloved attraction!

TRON LIGHTCYCLE RUN AT MAGIC KINGDOM

This new roller coaster was supposed to make its debut in time for the Magic Kingdom’s 50th Anniversary Celebration, but was delayed.

It’s possible the coaster will open in 2022, but we anticipate an opening of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind to open first.

If Cosmic Rewind is expected in the spring of 2022, don’t expect TRON until fall/winter.

SPLASH MOUNTAIN: PRINCESS AND THE FROG

Splash Mountain in Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., will soon be completely reimagined, inspired by the animated Disney film “The Princess and the Frog.” Guests will join Princess Tiana and Louis on a musical adventure as they prepare for their first Mardi Gras performance, featuring some of the powerful music from the film. If you’re hoping to ride Splash Mountain again before it’s made over into a Princess and the Frog, you probably have time. With all the projects Disney is taking on, we don’t expect an update until 2023 or later.

STAR WARS: GALACTIC STAR CRUISER

The brand-new Star Wars hotel will open on March 1st, 2022! You can book your voyage on the Star Cruiser starting October 28th, 2021.
